Follow the steps below to connect your Shopify account with Fivetran.
You will need to authenticate and select the account you wish to connect.
To do this, you must be an administrator of the account.
We work in partnership with Fivetran to ensure that this source will be securely connected. Data transfer is always end-to-end encrypted and your credentials will remain invisible throughout the process.
For the connector to work you must first go to your Shopify account to configure it:
Go to https://accounts.shopify.com/store-login and log into your Shopify account.
Once logged in, click on "Apps" in the left menu:
Click on "App and Sales Channel settings"
Click on "Develop apps for your store"
Click on "Create an app"
Enter "Fivetran" in the "App name" field and choose a user or administrator who is authorized to develop applications and click "Create app"
Click "Configure Admin API scopes"
Select the following 26 "read" boxes:
- read_products
- read_customers
- read_orders
- read_price_rules
- read_fulfillments
- read_shipping
- read_draft_orders
- read_inventory
- read_shopify_payments_payouts
- read_shopify_payments_disputes
- read_content
- read_themes
- read_product_listings
- read_customers
- read_locations
- read_script_tags
- read_assigned_fulfillment_orders
- read_merchant_managed_fulfillment_orders
- read_third_party_fulfillment_orders
- read_analytics
- read_reports
- read_discounts
- read_marketing_events
- read_resource_feedbacks
- read_translations
- read_locales
Once the boxes are checked, click "Save"
Click "Install app"
Click "Install"

Warning: you will only be able to see the Token of the next step once, make sure to immediately copy it to a safe place.

Click on "API credentials" and copy the API access token.
Once you have the API access token, go to your SmartBi account.
After selecting the Shopify Dashboard by clicking "+add" -
- or directly by clicking on the Shopify source from your account view by clicking on "Manage data sources" 
- you end up on the following screen:
It is recommended to also choose the Google Analytics ECommerce source to have the most relevant data possible for your dashboard.
Once you click "Configure with x of y sources", you get to the following screen:
Click on "I've got access, let's go" if you have access to the account and are the administrator.
Otherwise click on "Skip connection for now" and contact the administrator of the account.
After clicking on "I have access, let's go" you arrive on the Fivetran Shopify login page:
In the "Shop name" field enter the name of the store.
If your Shopify URL is myshop.myshopify.com, the store name is "myshop"
In the "Access Token" field, enter the API token you copied from the previous steps.
Then click on "Save & Test" at the bottom of the page.
The following screen should show that the connection worked:
We'll take care of it from here and you'll get an email when your Shopify dashboard is ready!
