Connect your Shopify account to SmartBi

We work in partnership with Fivetran to ensure that this source is securely connected. Data transfer is always end-to-end encrypted, and your credentials will remain invisible throughout the process. 


For the connector to work, you must first go to your Shopify account to configure it. 


Go to https://accounts.shopify.com/store-login and log in to your Shopify account. 


Once logged in, click on “Settings” in the left-hand menu, then “Apps and sales channels” : 


Then click on “Develop apps”, then “Create an app” : 


Note: If you have never authorized application creation before, proceed with authorization on your account.


Name your application “SmartBi”, or any other way you can think of, then click on “Create app”.


Click on “Configure Admin API scopes” : 


In the following drop-down list, select all access scopes beginning with “read”. This will allow SmartBi to display the data without being able to modify it. It should take you 1 minute to select about 60 scopes: 


Then click on “Save” at the top or bottom of the page, then on “Install app” at the top of the page. Confirm by clicking on “Install”: 


Finally, reveal your Admin API Token and copy it to your notes. This step is essential, as you'll only be able to access it once. If you lose it, you'll have to start the app creation process all over again: 


This API key is required to ensure data transmission between your Shopify store and SmartBi. 


To activate your dashboard, send us this key by email to info@smartbi.ca, along with your Shopify domain (company-name.myshopify.com).
